Walk and talk sessions

What is walk and talk therapy?

Walk and Talk Therapy takes the counseling process outdoors, combining the therapeutic benefits of movement, fresh air, and nature. Instead of sitting on a tele-health call, sessions are held while walking side by side in a calming outdoor setting. This approach can help ease the pressure of face-to-face conversations, foster a sense of relaxation, and help add some movement into your already busy schedule. Whether you're managing anxiety, processing trauma, or navigating life transitions, walk and talk therapy offers a unique and refreshing way to engage in your healing journey.

Benefits of bringing therapy outside

Physical movement and being in nature can lower cortisol levels and promote relaxation.

The informal setting can make conversations feel less intimidating, encouraging openness.

Challenges to consider

Walk and talk therapy may be overheard by others in public spaces. While we will make every effort to maintain privacy, being outdoors means complete confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.

There is also the possibility that you may encounter people you know, or that your therapist may know, during outdoor sessions. We can work together to create a plan in advance on how to handle such situations if they arise.

It is important to note that all initial sessions for walk-and-talk therapy are conducted via tele-health. This allows your therapist to gather the necessary information to support your therapy plan and process any insurance claims.
